Choosing a diet: rice or ABC?

There are many different diets for weight loss, the authors of each of which claim that their diet is the most effective. Consider two diets: rice and ABC.

rice diet

The rice diet is very simple. Every day with a meal you need to eat rice, while you can add greens and various vegetables to the dishes. There is a restriction on the consumption of a daily amount of rice – no more than 500 grams. Vegetables and herbs should not be cooked.

If you follow the rice diet, you will have to completely deprive yourself of the use of sour cream, mayonnaise, and various sauces based on it, reduce the amount of salt and seasonings consumed, especially spicy ones. You can use unsalted sauces and good quality olive oil to dress your dishes.

It is very important to remember one rule – it is not advisable to drink food immediately after eating it. You should wait at least half an hour after eating, and then you can drink a drink.

The rice diet has a big advantage – almost everyone can lose weight if they stick to it. This cereal has no contraindications, is hypoallergenic and, no less important, contains a large amount of vitamins and minerals that will support the body while following the rice diet.

Perhaps the most important disadvantage of the diet is that in the process of following it, the human body gradually gets used to such a diet. The rice diet is quite soft and normalizes nutrition, and also makes it more balanced. But, despite the disadvantages listed above, this type of diet remains one of the most popular.

Diet ABC

The ABC diet is a set of measures in which foods eaten can be divided into three groups. Each of the groups was assigned its own color by specialists. They used three colors: red, in this group, prohibited products, yellow – products that are allowed to be consumed in limited quantities, and green – products that are allowed for consumption.

Let’s take a closer look at each of the groups:

  • “red” foods are banned. These include: fast food, breads and pastries, butter, fatty meats, mayonnaise-based sauces, sour cream, full-fat dairy, sweets, sodas, liquor, champagne, and beer.
  • products of “yellow” color are allowed to be consumed up to 18 hours. This group includes: pasta, wholemeal bread, lean meats, cheese, cottage cheese, sausage products, vegetable oil, sweets, fruits and dried fruits, tomatoes, canned foods, ketchup-based sauces and coffee.
  • products of a “green” color, you can eat throughout the day, practically without limiting yourself, but observing the principle of moderation. This group includes: eggs (no more than 2 pieces per day), seafood, vegetables, fruits, cereals, low-fat dairy products, olive oil, natural juices, kefir and tea.

The ABC Diet has received the approval of experts in the field of nutrition, as it takes into account the rules and principles of proper and balanced nutrition.
