The word cellulite causes awe and horror among the female part of the population. All glossy magazines abound with photos of models and stars with young and smooth skin. But at one time no one even knew of its existence. In old paintings by famous artists, cellulite is present in most women painted naked. If you look at the paintings of Rubens, it seems that the artist thus glorified cellulite and lush female hips. Modern criteria for female beauty, on the contrary, exclude even a hint of orange peel, the skin should be smooth and elastic.
Causes of cellulite
Many believe that the main cause of orange peel is excess weight. Of course, the number of fat cells affects the elasticity of the skin, but this is not the only reason. Among the active fighters against the hated enemy, there are also slender ladies. Often even athletes can see cellulite!
Cellulite is directly dependent on hormonal changes in the female body. The hormonal background of a woman goes through several difficult periods: transitional age, pregnancy and childbirth, and finally menopause. All these changes leave their mark on women’s hips. Excess estrogen, caused by hormonal surges in the body, affects changes in the structure of the skin and provokes the appearance of cellulite.
Proper nutrition is of great importance in the battle for elastic skin. Excessively fatty and salty foods stimulate the formation of fat cells and retain fluid in the body, which is deplorably reflected in the tone of the skin and causes the formation of unfortunate tubercles.
Fortunately, the modern cosmetic industry has thoroughly studied the nature of the origin of cellulite and how to deal with it. In addition to salon procedures, there are also many other ways to restore skin elasticity at home.
Clay will help in the fight against cellulite
In the fight against the ill-fated orange peel, all means are good, and one of them is healing clay. This remedy has been known since ancient times as an excellent absorbent and was used for poisoning and stomach diseases. Ancient beauties also used clay to preserve youth.
Types of clay
The most common and affordable is blue clay. In the composition of this clay, you can find several elements that have a particularly good effect on the elasticity of the skin. These are compounds of silicon, magnesium, calcium, as well as zinc, sulfur and silver. All these trace elements play a useful role in restoring skin turgor.
No less useful and effective is also black clay. She is credited with such magical properties as rejuvenation of the body, elimination of wrinkles, and even excess weight. The main element that distinguishes black clay from all other types of clay is the chemical element radium, which is part of it. It is thanks to this element that black clay helps tissues get rid of toxins and renew cells.
Another type of clay that you definitely need to pay attention to is white clay or kaolin. Penetrating into the upper layer of the epidermis, kaolin stimulates the formation of collagen, thereby increasing the turgor of the skin. In addition, white clay strengthens blood vessels and stimulates the sebaceous glands. Therefore, white clay enjoys great prestige in cosmetology.
How to use clay
To succeed in the difficult task of exterminating the orange peel, you need to regularly do body wraps using clay. To do this, dilute the clay with warm water and you can already proceed directly to the wrap. There are also all kinds of recipes for wraps using different ingredients. For example, if you mix blue clay with coffee mass, then the wrapping effect will be stronger, since the caffeine contained in coffee beans improves metabolism and speeds up the process of fat burning in the body. Clay and coffee grounds should be mixed in equal proportions and then applied to the skin. In this case, natural coffee should be used, and not instant coffee, because it contains more caffeine. Before wrapping, it is very useful to make a coffee scrub.
Another useful body wrap recipe is blue clay mixed with honey. Honey has long been known for its healing properties, and in combination with clay, it simply has no equal. To obtain a homogeneous mass, it is better to take liquid honey and mix it in equal proportions with clay. You can also add a tablespoon of ground red pepper to this mass, which greatly enhances the effectiveness of the wrap due to the warming properties of pepper. However, according to cosmetologists, this wrap is too aggressive for frequent use and can cause reddening of the skin, and sometimes even burns. This procedure should also be avoided by women suffering from varicose veins and fragile vessels.
Before wrapping, be sure to do at least a light massage. This will increase blood circulation, and beneficial elements will more actively penetrate the skin. Then you should apply the prepared mass of clay on the skin in an even layer and wrap everything with cling film. The wrap should be kept for at least half an hour, and then washed off with warm water and smeared with a nourishing cream.
Another useful procedure to combat cellulite bumps is clay massage. To do this, dilute the clay with water and add salt and honey there. Then you should mix everything and roll small balls from the resulting mass, one centimeter in diameter. With this scrub, you need to massage problem areas for five minutes, and then rinse with warm water and apply a moisturizer.
Regular procedures are the key to success in the fight against cellulite
Many women, having done several procedures and wraps and not noticing significant changes, are disappointed in the qualities of clay and give up. In order to get the desired effect, you need to do clay masks at least 2-3 times a week, and even better every other day for several weeks. Only then will the skin begin to even out, the bumps will decrease and soon your skin will become smooth and elastic.
