Dry body skin

It often happens that the once normal skin of the face and body becomes dry and tight, causing a lot of discomfort. In this case, the skin can peel off and redden. Dryness can be caused by frequent bathing in a hot bath or shower, abuse of baths and saunas. There are many reasons for dry skin.

Dry skin becomes because the sebaceous glands do not produce enough fat in the body.

Perhaps the reason for this is a metabolic disorder in the body or a lack of vitamins. Dry skin can also become after prolonged use of antibiotics. After treatment with strong drugs, it is necessary to take vitamins and treat the stomach – the condition of the skin largely depends on this. Of course, the climate also affects the state of the epidermis: excessive tanning (be it the sun or a solarium) ages the skin, makes it inelastic and deprives of elasticity, and also dries it.

What should you do if you are experiencing dry skin?

First, include in your diet foods and foods rich in vitamin E, because it is a powerful antioxidant that prevents the rapid aging of the skin. This vitamin is found in foods such as: broccoli, spinach, legumes, beef liver, almonds, hazelnuts, cherries, mountain ash, sea buckthorn, as well as corn and vegetable oils.

Having dealt with nutrition, start taking care of your skin with cosmetics in parallel. Remember that you need to moisturize your skin – for this, buy moisturizing creams and milk, and refuse to use toilet soap. It is best to use a shower gel, or choose a soap with a neutral PH. Moisturize your skin immediately after bathing and before bed. Make at least a couple of times a week moisturizing masks for the skin of the body or prepare baths from a decoction of herbs that promote cell regeneration and exfoliate dead skin particles.

If you can’t afford expensive oils and other body care products, you can deal with the problem at home. For example, make your own scrub: Grind 1 tablespoon of almonds and 1 tablespoon of oatmeal in a coffee grinder. Then add to the mixture 2 tbsp. spoons of sour cream, stir well and apply to the body immediately after a shower. Wait 5 minutes and rinse with warm water without soap, shower gels, etc. After you dry your body with a towel, apply a moisturizer.

In no case do not use alcohol-containing preparations and cosmetics – they dry the skin even more. Use ordinary ice cubes to moisturize, massaging them with light circular movements without pressing on the skin. A rejuvenating mask made from dandelion leaves, mint, nettle and chamomile will also come to your aid. You can buy them at the pharmacy for a penny. The same proportions of these herbs need to be crushed, poured with boiling water, and add 1 tablespoon of honey. Apply this mixture on your body and you will immediately notice the result.

A good stimulant in combination with caring cosmetics and homemade recipes will be gymnastics and a light massage using oils.

If the skin is dry and causes discomfort in the form of itching and burning, use cold compresses to eliminate the problem, buy hydrocartisone ointment or bepanthen cream, which promotes healing and cell restoration, since it turns into a vitamin in the cells of the body. If these tips do not help, you should consult a dermatologist.

The next rule, which is easy to follow, is choosing the right clothes. In summer, try to wear light linen and clothes made from natural fibers. Discard synthetics, guipure and other fabrics. In winter it is better to wear 100 percent wool. In other words, you just need to regularly care for the skin and moisturize it at any time of the year, and then it will become elastic, beautiful and will always please the eye.
