Such a common problem as enlarged pores on the face most often affects women who have oily or combination skin. In addition to the undeniable plus of oily skin (later, compared to normal and dry, withering), it also has a big minus in the form of unaesthetic enlarged pores. The main problem areas are the forehead, nose and chin (in other words, the T-zone). Pore enlargement occurs when the sebaceous glands overproduce and secrete sebum, which accumulates in the pores and leads to their expansion.
The main reasons for the expansion of the pores are hereditary predisposition and the lack of proper and regular cleaning of the skin from dirt, fat and dead cells. Stress, malnutrition, decreased immunity, hormonal changes, dysfunction of the endocrine glands, disruption of the collagen production process (which contributes to excessive sunburn), sunburn, dehydration, excessive use of decorative cosmetics (especially low-quality), bad habits. Enlarged pores must be dealt with in a timely manner, otherwise they may be aggravated by the appearance of black spots and acne. If it is not always possible to completely get rid of this ailment, then making the pores not so noticeable is a completely doable task.
Folk methods of dealing with enlarged pores
To get rid of enlarged pores, the most important thing is to cleanse the skin. In order to do this more thoroughly, you need to use scrubs twice a week. They exfoliate dead skin cells, helping to improve its blood circulation. After using scrubs, rinse your face with cold water to close the pores.
One effective scrub is coffee scrub. The substances contained in coffee also soothe and smooth the skin, thereby preventing its aging. Coffee also protects the skin from UV rays. You can just use coffee grounds, or you can mix it with cinnamon and cream, or with any essential oil and a teaspoon of sour cream (for two teaspoons of coffee grounds).
A variety of face masks will also help reduce the appearance of enlarged pores. For example, a mask of almonds and herbs. To prepare such a mask, you need to make 50 ml of a decoction of two tablespoons of linden leaves, elderberry, pine shoots and chamomile flowers and pour it (without letting it cool) a tablespoon of almonds (ground in a coffee grinder, meat grinder or blender). In the resulting mixture, add half a teaspoon of honey and a teaspoon of flour. Mix everything and apply on face for half an hour, then rinse with cool water.
To eliminate visible pores, as well as relieve irritation and improve complexion, a decoction of bay leaves will help. You can simply wipe your face with a cotton swab dipped in this decoction. Zinc oxide lotion will also give a good effect, which will help rid the skin of the face of excess sebum. An excellent option would be to freeze various herbal teas and use ice cubes to wipe the skin of the face. This procedure tightens the pores very well.
Salon methods of dealing with enlarged pores
The most effective salon procedure is microdermabrasion, one of the types of peeling. It consists in applying a special scrub containing very fine solid particles (microcrystals) or polishing the skin with a diamond-tipped nozzle. This procedure will help to narrow the pores, smooth the skin, cleanse it of dead cells, and also eliminates fine wrinkles. Microdermabrasion promotes the production of collagen in the cells (if performed correctly). Two or three procedures are enough to achieve the desired result.
Another type of peeling, more radical – chemical. In addition to getting rid of enlarged pores, it also fights wrinkles, uneven skin surface, dull complexion and acne. Its essence is to remove the surface layers of the skin, which stimulates the growth of a new epidermis. There are three types of chemical peels: superficial, medium and deep. Superficial peeling is the most gentle and therefore the most common.
In cosmetology, cryotherapy is often used today – cold treatment. In this case, liquid nitrogen is used, the freezing effect of which helps the body to rejuvenate. This procedure speeds up the metabolism. At the same time, the skin becomes light, sebum is produced less and acne disappears.
With many skin problems, including enlarged pores, darsonvalization helps to fight, i.e. exposure to ultrasound. During this procedure, the skin is stimulated with pulsed high-frequency currents. On sale there is a special apparatus (darsonval), which can be used independently, without resorting to the help of a beautician. But darsonvalization itself has contraindications, so this method of dealing with enlarged pores can not be used by everyone.
Methods for preventing enlarged pores
Here, as in everything, it is much easier and more correct to prevent the appearance of enlarged pores than to fight them later. The most important rule is regular cleansing of the skin, as well as exfoliation with scrubs. It will not be superfluous to protect the skin from ultraviolet radiation, as well as moderate exposure to the sun. For washing it is not necessary to use hot water. And of course, it is better to buy only high-quality and preferably natural cosmetics, and in small quantities, than to try to “plaster” your face under a thick layer of foundation, trying to hide skin imperfections with it.
It is quite logical to monitor your health in general, lead an active lifestyle, visit doctors on time and keep your immunity normal. You can’t do without proper nutrition. Everything here is simple and has long been known: more liquid (especially green tea), fruits, vegetables and herbs. Then your skin will delight you with its fresh and beautiful appearance every day.
