Firstly, potatoes should not be eaten fried due to the amount of oil that is added to the frying pan. In addition, fried potatoes are usually eaten with a large piece of meat flavored with some kind of harmful sauce. All this is not good for the figure and the body.

Secondly, potatoes that have lain on the balcony for several months accumulate starch in excess and become very high in calories. Fresh potatoes have very few carbohydrates and a large amount of protein, so it is much healthier for a person who needs protein, including for weight loss.

Therefore, those who are overweight can try to sit on a potato diet. There are many variations of this diet. Here are a few of the most common.

  1. This diet is designed for only 4 days. Every day you should eat the same way: for breakfast a glass of low-fat yogurt, for lunch – mashed potatoes in the amount of 200-250 grams, and prepared without adding milk and with a minimum of salt; for dinner – 200 grams of boiled potatoes, you can also eat one boiled chicken egg. Perhaps for some, this diet will seem meager and it will be difficult to live these 4 days, but the result is worth it: in four days you can lose 2-3 kg.
  2. This diet option involves eating in a certain way for seven days. During the diet period, you will need to eat eight medium-sized boiled potatoes per day (without salt and oil). It is best not to boil the potatoes, but to bake them in their skins, so all the useful substances are preserved in it. It is allowed to add dried herbs, parsley or dill, cumin, etc. to potatoes. You can’t eat anything other than potatoes.
  3. The third option is a variation of the previous one. In addition to potatoes, it is also allowed to consume cottage cheese and vegetables in moderation per day, only such a diet should last at least 12 days.

No matter which diet option you choose, in any case, you can lose excess weight. Extra pounds will go away daily – about 0.5 kg per day.

But do not forget that you can not sit on a potato diet for more than two weeks, otherwise you can seriously harm your body.
