Rosemary essential oil for acne and blemishes

The problem of purulent rashes on the skin can seriously spoil the mood, and even more sadly, a person’s personal life. Often this trouble that spoils the appearance appears in adolescence, becoming a companion of his chosen one for a year. It happens that even having crossed the line of adolescence, a person cannot get rid of it.

What young and not very owners of problem skin do not do. Their arsenal includes expensive masks, gels, sprays, creams and the like, unfortunately often ineffective, means of dealing with their merciless enemy. However, there is a substance that can provide a huge service in the fight against acne and greatly improve the condition of the skin – this is rosemary essential oil.

What is the secret of rosemary oil?

Rosemary oil, in contact with the skin, acts on it as follows:

  • reduces fatty secretions of the skin;
  • cleanses the skin;
  • narrows pores;
  • copes with inflammation and black spots on the skin;
  • has a resolving effect;
  • evens out the skin texture;
  • tones the skin and improves blood circulation.

Rosemary has a very rich composition, which provides such a wide range of its positive effects. For example, it includes substances such as magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, zinc and iron, which have a beneficial effect on problem skin. Rosmarinic acid in this oil is a powerful antioxidant. But besides it, the oil contains about 12 more antioxidants, although somewhat weaker.

The most valuable substances that make up rosemary have a pronounced ability to improve blood circulation both in the whole organism as a whole and in the skin surfaces in particular. Good blood circulation in the skin, in turn, contributes to its renewal and increased penetration in relation to substances useful to it.

Topical application of rosemary oil

One of the most popular ways to treat acne with rosemary essential oil is to apply it directly to the pimple or, in severe cases, all over the pimple. Since the oil is very concentrated, it should not be used undiluted. Such use can be fraught with redness, irritation and excessive drying or even skin burns.

It is better to use a base oil, which can be any vegetable oil. In one teaspoon of this oil, add 2 drops of rosemary oil. For particularly severe cases of pustular eruptions, a more concentrated mixture can be made by taking less base oil. It is necessary to lubricate with this oily solution only acne. After 30 minutes, the oil should be removed from the face.

An excellent result will give a combination of rosemary oil with other essential oils, such as tea tree. The effectiveness of tea tree oil in the fight against acne and scars left by them is very similar to the effect of rosemary oil. The combination of these two oils will only enhance the result. You can combine them in two ways.

  • Prepare two mixtures of oils: vegetable with rosemary oil and vegetable with tea tree oil. Then use them alternately.
  • In a teaspoon of any vegetable oil, add one drop of rosemary essential oil and one drop of tea tree.

For faster results, it is best to use the prepared product every day. In this case, one important detail should be taken into account – the invigorating effect of rosemary essential oil. It becomes obvious that this remedy, like any other with rosemary, is best used in the earlier hours of the day.

Clay mask with rosemary oil

Clay mask with rosemary oil has gained an excellent reputation. Clay has long established itself as an excellent tool for deep cleansing of facial skin, narrowing enlarged pores, nutrition and smoothing. In combination with rosemary ether, clay will give the maximum healing effect.

Preparing such a mask is not at all difficult. To do this, dilute white, green, blue or other clay to such a density that it will help to easily apply it to the skin and not allow it to drain from the face to the floor. In clay diluted in water, herbal infusion or tea, add a few drops of rosemary oil (at the rate of 3 drops per 1 tablespoon of clay).

The finished mask should be gently applied to the face, preferably in a prone position. After 15 minutes, the mask should be washed off. Since the clay absorbs moisture from the skin as it dries, a moisturizer must be applied to the face after applying this mask. It should be used no more than 3 times a week.

Getting rid of stains

A lot has already been said above about the effectiveness of rosemary oil in the fight against acne and traces of them. Combining it with another component – celandine oil – will create a powerful remedy for dealing with problems on the face. Especially it perfectly relieves age spots, which may not go away for a long time after the pimple itself disappears.

Sea buckthorn and fir oil are also good helpers in the process of getting rid of acne spots. These oils both dissolve and brighten the places where inflammations on the skin were located, and heal wounds and reduce the inflammations themselves. In these oils, as well as other oils such as patchouli, rose hip and grape seed, you can easily add a few drops of rosemary ether and apply to problem areas. If there is a desire to cover the entire skin, add less rosemary oil, if only on the affected areas – more.

Rosemary essential oil and care products

Even for those who don’t have the time or inclination, or both, there is still a way to use rosemary oil. How? By simply adding it to various skin care products. For example, you can add it to a gel, cream, lotion or facial tonic. It is very important not to overdo it with the quantity. For one dose of the remedy, even 1 drop of oil can be a lot.

Do not forget to add rosemary ether to hair products, as it favorably affects the condition of the hair and scalp. In addition, it often happens that rashes occur not only on the open skin of the face, but also on the skin covered with hair. With this use of rosemary oil, you can even get rid of dandruff.

Side effects of rosemary oil

The oil has a beneficial effect on both the vascular and digestive systems. Aromatherapy with its use also eliminates headaches.
